Well, I must admit I've seriously wimped out this week, but with good reason. It has rained EVERY day and I've taken the car to work... I hate getting the Harley dirty and the Ural has been sidelined while I work out an air intake problem. Plus, Monday was the start of deer hunting season and I'm very reluctant to take the Parkway or even the major highway because the hunters always flush the critters out from the trees. However, today's forecast is for sun and 8C (45F) so I'll take the Harley. I'll be coming home a bit early anyway, as Fridays are usually pretty slow at the factory. And I need a ride, 'cause I'm starting to get cranky.

*Sorry guys, I wrote this before I realized I was in Harley land - but since the topic doesn't sound totally Harley, I'll leave it here with my appologies."*

Over here in mid-western Ohio we don't put them away. You never know when you'll have an odd 50 degree day in the middle of Winter. We rode two days this week. Once on Thursday for about 3 hours, and once on Friday to go out to lunch together, Loonette and I. I really felt blessed.

It is funny too; I had said to her I didn't know how I had been tolerating not being able to ride the week or so previous. I figured out I've developed a defense that makes me forget about riding when I really can't, but as soon as I was out on the road I was grinning like and idiot and laughing with joy. Now with the weather back to shite, I'll have to get back in my "ignore the bike" mode.

no stress scan...we love everyone here....just no autoslagging on harleys like there is on the outside here in Harley Land.

But get out i meant get out of the garage...the is no deep storage for me til after the hangover ride on new years and then it amounts to pouring in some stabalizers and taking parts off for replacemnt or repair.....jan and most of feb tend to be unacceptable for riding here in Indy...but being in Ohio you know that.

Scan, as a Moderator you have the right to post anywhere/anything you like. You've earned the trust of Mike and the other mods, which means you can be counted on to keep a level head when things get out of hand. So I'm a little puzzled as to why you thought you needed to apologise for posting here in "Harley land". You'll find we're actually a pretty calm bunch here. :)

I have been riding pretty regurlarly. I put a total of 550 miles on both my bikes so far this month and am looking forward to this weekend. The weatherman says it will be in the low 70s Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I am going to try and stroke the wife's humor and indulgence a bit and see if I can put on a bunch of miles this weekend.

Hope that the weather is good for the rest of you.

Happy Thanksgiving.

I still have been riding the hog....as log as it appears that it is not going to rain. I am trying to put another 500 miles before the end of the year. That will give me 50k miles...and then I will be due for a new rear tire and rear brakes......

THis bike has been so awesome!!! 50k miles in four years....not to bad....if I due say so myself!

Isn't it great to be able to ride well into Winter? Every year for the past two I've been able to ride until the beginning of January. I hope that happens again this year. Right after the the start of the year, the last two, it was way too cold and unsafe to ride through the rest of January and February (as I recall) but March brought the bike back out again. In total I think I had 6 weeks of dead time. I pray to the gods of biking and weather to be so kind one more year.
