So the countdown to the weekend continues. Today I have been trying to tidy the house as it is depressing to arrive home to a mess. I have been very naughty & took the easy option of taking all bed linen etc to the launderette for a service wash as the weather has been hopeless here.

Whilst the washing was being done I had a nice rest in the hairdressers next door :D

The bikes need a quick service & wash but I am being a girlie :cheerleader: & leaving that to himself tomorrow. I did try to move the large potted shrub which has fallen over in the storms of the last few days in front of the bike shed doors, but it is too heavy for one. Still it does mean that noone can nick the bikes before Thursday!

Just one more sleep then off on holiday :D

Fingers crossed that the rain holds off - it's dry tonight.

The naughty boys might have to search here for pictures of my shiny new waistcoat ............but I am going to keep them waiting a bit longer

Great ride down to Devon even tho we had rain for the first half of journey.

Lots of hills which my bike just eats. Am a little bit squiffy now due to painkillers + ale, so excuse me if I now retire.

Hopefully lots of bikes + pics Fri/Sat

Great ride down yesterday even tho we set off later than was planned. We had been waiting in vain for the rain to stop but around 3pm decided it was now or never.
Fortunately the rain cleared about halfway down + my new leathers kept me warm, all but my hands - might treat myself to new gloves this w/e!

The latter part of the ride was great, partly as we seemed to miss the traffic. There was a minor accident on one of the country roads which meant the police had to limit traffic flow to one way. Whilst unfortunate for the car accident people it meant after some naughty overtaking (would never have risked it but obvious oncoming traffic stopped), I got to the front of the queue. I got a thank you from both the ambulance driver + the policewoman for pulling over to let tgem pass. When we got the signal to go I had about 15 miles of completely clear, dry, twisty road all to myself! Rocketman had gone ahead but we always have a stop at a particular place so I knew I would see him there + I had the sandwiches!

The accommodation is quite comfortable & only 2 minutes walk from town + the festival which is on the links.

The event officially opens in about an hour so I'm off for a quick shower before we hit the beer tent

Have just woken very early (4am) on the morning of our last day here & at last have some tinternet access (it has been very intermittent).

So to catch up..............the weekend has been fun with good attendance - especially yesterday when it was bright & sunny :sunshine: It has been dry but fairly dull tho thankfully not as cold as last year.

The beer tent has been packed as usual & town (which is small & very tourist orientated, has been thronging with bikers from every genre. Next door to us is a small hotel which is full of HD riders from Wolverhampton with their very ditinctive midlands accent (think Noddy Holder).

On Saturday we went down to the fishing port of !rixham which was having a pirate festival & again had good crowds with a family atmosphere.

The party is over & it is time to ride home :(
Fortunately it is dry & sunny so it should be a pleasant trip.

I now have 2 hours to shower, pack have breakfast & clean up apartment!

Sad to have only 2 bikes left in the car park (albeit lovely ones)
