I got my bike started Friday! I went to check the battery, just to see if it needed to be charged after sitting. The headlight looked strong, so I figured I'd try to turn it over just for shits and giggles. Much to my surprise the starter actually caught and cranked the engine. I opened up the fuel petcock and let the float bowls fill, then tried again. It actually started and ran, though it didn't want to idle at all. It was a decent day so I went for a lap around the block after gathering my helmet, jacket, and gloves. I should have checked the tires before I left, the front end felt really strange. When I got back and checked the ties they were 30psi rear and 10psi front

. No wonder the front felt funny.
On that first lap the engine was running piss-poor, not wanting to rev above 3000 rpm. I poured a half can of Sea Foam in the tank and went out again. I'm not sure if the engine had warmed up or if it was the Sea Foam, but it ran much better the second time out. Total I rode about 20 miles. At the end of the ride my exhaust was popping at bit at idle, not sure what that was all about.
Now I definitely need to get that starter clutch taken care of and get the bike in for a tune and carb balance. I HAVE REJOINED THE RIDING!!!
