Pictures from the 2006 St. Ignace Auto Show (dialup beware)

#13 Unread post by Andy G »

Not motorcycles...but another passion of mine...car shows!

Each year the city of St. Ignace (4000 or so people) hosts one of the biggest and best auto shows in the midwest. Last year there were 2500 cars and over 100,000 people came to see the cars! The numbers were similar for this year.

Friday night is the parade, and Saturday is the show, where they close off about 2 miles of the main road through town and fill it completely (both sides) with cars. Yeah...it's sweet.

On with the pictures...

People...

Even the HotRod Magazine LS-7 Pontiac Solstice was there. And it was LOUD!

Update...finally!

Been a busy past few days, hadn't done much work to the bike.

I did finish re-painting the frame (gloss black), looks much better. Got everything cleaned up. Got the forks painted too. Did a quick mockup today, so I can actually see some progress...

Image

Next I am working on the wheels, gonna clean 'em up and repaint those black as well. Do a little sandblasting on some smaller parts and paint those. Then I gotta start up on cleaning the engine...

More later!

OK, so no riding or working on the 750 for the past week or so. Tuesday morning I woke up and the muscles in my back were cramped...I couldn't stand up straight. I was listing to starboard.

Went to the doc and he put me on some good muscle relaxants and other stuff to reduce the swelling. Took me awhile but the pain is gone. I couldn't ride the 400 because the meds made me feel all foggy...!

It's raining already today, so probably no riding...that means I can hang out with my son, work in the garage on the 750, and just relax!

Later.

Took a short ride today

I'm really loving my '78 CB400TII Hawk. That is onehelluva motorcycle. What a lot of fun for ridin' around town.

I added some "Seafoam" to help clean out the carbs/fuel system, and it made a big difference. She idles very smooth now, and is a little snappier in the git-up-n-go. Also threw some Lucas Oil Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer in the crankcase.

I'm a HUGE Lucas oil fan. They make some amazing products. I'd be a dealer if I thought I could make any money off of it!

I'm jonesin' for a hotrod project. Found a '64-'66 Chevy truck sitting in a field...in good condition. Thing is, it's a 3/4 ton, not exactly what I think of when I think about hotrodding something. So, the search continues...

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY to all my Veteran friends, and those currently serving this Great Country, all over the world and here at home!
