I don't understand the appeal of spamming an old, dying motorcycle forum with three visitors a day...

2 Stroke 125/250cc sportbike is the best beginner.

Hi, im a big guy, 6'4, probably 385, and was wanting to know if a 09 Kawasaki volcom 500cc would be a good bike for me to learn on.
I read the articles above so think it might be okay but just want to make sure before I buy it and figure out im too big for it or its a bad bike or anything like that, sorry for my lack of knowledge

That will probably work for you, given your bigger stature. Make sure it's mechanically sound before spending any money. Or it could just become a money pit. A lot of shops are no longer working on bikes older than 10 years. So, if you aren't mechanically inclinded, keep that in mind.

Well, another riding season is upon us and as it always happens, we get lots of inquiries from potential new riders on how to get into the sport, what's a good first ride, where to take safety classes and so on. One particular type of inquiry that pops up with almost clockwork frequency is from a small number of new riders who wish to buy 600cc and up sportbikes as their first ride.
