Can anyone recommend a bike friendly insurance company in Alberta? One dealership told me to check out Costen. Any thoughts? :)

If you have a house and or cars insured at Cooperators they seem to cut you a good deal on bikes. The cars will be a little more expensive but in my case at least the bikes were a lot cheaper. I gave up trying to beat their price when they came through beautifully when I had a couple of claims....which is the reason I have insurance after all....

Exactly,I want to know not just who gives decent rates, but more importantly how do they treat you when you get smacked by some putz cage operator. I've been hit before(totally their fault) and was treated like a criminal by "Them"(I.C.B.C). Thanks for the info :) I'm with cooperators now in NL,But nobodies run over me here...yet.

If you wanted to stick with Cooperators, they have offices here in Alberta as well.

I'm with AMA, but you have to be a member (which has some nice benefits). How they treat you in the event of a claim, I'm not sure, as I've never had to deal with that in 14 years of driving.

I had a run of bad luck in the early 90's: My then new truck got hailed on and I waited almost a full year to get it fixed on insurance. It got hailed AGAIN before I even washed it! Both times they treated me top shelf. My car got hit by a drunk driver and punted up on to my front lawn: again looked after completely with a rental car - no hassle. My house got broken into in '93 and they looked after me big time. When I crashed the VTR in '98, again everything was looked after right away.
I've heard lots of stories of people getting worked over by insurance companies but this one has been great. In the big picture they have gotten more out of me than I have put in (I have a few too many toys  ). It's just not worth it for me to even look around anymore.

Well maybe I'll stick cooperators if they treat you like that. Sorry about all the misadventure,(sorry cause I was giggling while I read it) The house part sucks though :( . I had two bad crashes in '01 and '02, too much time in hospitals and being mended, so I have a lot of empathy for others bad happinins. 8)

When I was moving here (Calgary) last year some members on this forum suggested either the Cooperators or AMA. I went to both and after evaluating what both offered me, I went with AMA. Have not had a claim yet...hopefully never :)
