We all ride for different reasons;therefore, we all ride at different speeds. What is your speed?

It would depend on the posted speed limit.

Perhaps it would be more effective to gauge how far above or below a speed limit people ride at.

Average 65mph and the occasional blast to 100mph. Speed limits in Idaho 75-85 depending on where you go.

80mph on the interstate, at least ten over everywhere else with the occasional run into triple digit speeds for good measure. :)

I'm most comfortable running at 70mph, just because of wind blows me around pretty good past that speed.

But it really comes down to how fast the rest of the cars are going if it's on the freeway. I try to go the same speed as everyone else simply because it's more safer and it lessens the chance of having someone tailgate you or cars cutting you off cuz they're pissed you're going slow.

I do not often look at my clock, I adjust my speed to my enviroment but am usually faster than what is around me. I have a lot of open roads and can get up to 180 (miles per hour) for stretches of 10 to 12 miles at a time. Totally open roads no traffic. I cruise with the goose at 100 to 110. once out of our cities and onto the back roads we have thousands of miles of empty roads. It is common that we can ride for an hour and not see anyone else.
I spent my therapy money an a K1200S
The therapy worked, I got a GS now
A touch of insanity crept back in the shape of an R1200R

I do feel comfortable to ride at the speed limit or 5-10 mph above that, but unfortunately the tailgaters make me go to 20-25 above all the time. The roads are pretty crowded in NJ and I have not really came up with the solution to handle these situations so far...
