I live in a rural part of Texas, and work for the sheriffs dept. We recently arrested an idiot doing 130 on his motorcycle at 1 AM. I can tell you we have mutiple collisions each week between drivers and deer at all hours of the night, and even some during the day. At 130, this cyclist would have been a statistic if a deer had run out in front of him. Just because there's light traffic doesn't mean there are no hazards.
