rear tire seem to be losing around 1 psi/day.

should i be worried?

i hope it's not a big deal. i still have plenty of thread left on it.

There may be a problem with the valve stem, OR you may have another problem. Might be a good idea to have it checked out by a tire place.

That reminds me, I've got to go get a valve stem tool... my front valve stem has "issues."

Most likely the valve stem. On my old bike, my valve stem thingy came lose. Just get the tool and tighten it up. If it still leaks after that, have someone look at it.

Just tighten it up. If you don't have the valve stem tool, you can do it with a very fine pair of pliers. I got an air compressor and I don't mind using it so 1 PSI a day doesn't bother me... but you should get it checked out anyways.

You shouldn't be losing psi that fast like everyone has said.

And because you seem to keep misspelling it, it's TREAD, not THREAD.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Also, I know you are in Cali, but keep an eye on the ambient temperature. Cooler temperature equals lower pressure in your tires. I highly doubt it would be responsible for a psi lost a day, but it may play a factor.

I didn't see anyone mention this one : Check carefully for nails. A nail in the tire can cause a very slow leak, such as you describe. If you find one, don't pull it out unless you plan on fixing it then and there.

our some soapy water on the tire and around the stem, look for bubbles and youll know if you have a small slow leak. save you the trip to the tire place if its that.

Some aluminum wheels are porous enough to leak slowly. A couple coats of enamel between the beads is a on the tire side of the rim will usually solve the problem. Be sure to rebalance after the tire is replaced.
