What the hell is happening in Japan? Is it 'cause I'm getting old or is styling taking a bad turn for the worse? Both the 599 and the Z1000 used to be good looking....what the hell happened?

I dislike the gauges on the new 599, and I miss the classic high mount exhaust, even though it caused problems. Otherwise I sorta dig the futureistic look. I wouldn't mind getting that headlight dealy on mine.. if it was possible to transfer.
It's occured to me that there is probably no underseat storage now though.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Agreed. Though the best looking 599's are the 04's (and other years in that gen).

What kind of problems? Aside from my melty turnsignal that was my fault.
And MAN all of those bikes look hideous in their new incarnation. I'm going to go pour bleach in my eyes, back in a minute...

eventhough the desomodici gets my vote on looks, i'd still pick an RC211V just bec of it's superior performance.

Gets in the way when you want to mount soft bags. Not a huge problem, but an annoyance.
Though it's a far sight better then that exhaust they do have.
I will admit though, I'd like the tail and the front end (except the new gauges) to put onto my bike. LoL.

I like the new 599, but the kawi looks fugly with that exhaust, it looks like a freaking tuba. And the duc is sexy, especially the nose, I like the single ram air induction tube thingy.

It was a big ask but I think they managed to make the new Z1000 exhaust uglier than the last one.

I believe that the Cagiva V-Raptor started it all. WHo knew it would become "stylish"?

Add the new VMax to that list. Hideous. Even Triumph's caught the disease, the new Tiger screams "hey, look, I can be just as ugly as the Japanese big 4!"

Wow, you just can't polish a turd. Both old and new models are not my cup of tea.

I love the new 599...much better than the bland old version.
However I think the Z-1000 is going a little too over the top.
And I also like the new V-max.

They look fine to me. I think Japan is taking design cues directly from Anime.

It looks like they took a lot of the styling cues from the mighty Suzuki Katana to make the Raptor.
