Icon Helmey, Field armor, or Exhaust. GAH! the choices...

#1 Unread post by Ninja Geoff »

Okay, so my rent this month cost me a set of tires i don't use/need and $20... so there's a $350 bill i don't need to pay. So naturaly, i want to spend it on the bike in some way. Just i don't know if i want to get a full set of Icon field armor (~$190 shipped), a nice shiny new Icon Skull helmet (~$205 shipped), or Jardine slip on ($245 shipped; one of the loudest pipes for my bike too). Any suggestions?

I want the field armor so i don't always need to wear the jacket when it's 21897450 degrees out.

I want the helmet cause it looks cool and my current one is a POS (KarateChick can attest to that, we have the same lid).

And the exhaust so i can be loud.

Also, i might get a discount on the armor/helmet since i joined the 650r forums...

get the helmet.

it's the only one that warrants a "need" based on your post.

the other 2 are just "wants."

oh and do you have pics of the jardine can?

i already saw the jardine for my bike and i have mixed feelings on it. like for your bike, the guy who had it claimed it was F'ing LOUD!

looks the same for the gixxer... just higher and a little bit longer.

and about the helmet... ok. i thought it was really bad.

just go w/ the exhaust then.

i wanna ask though... is your suspension already fine for you?
that's the 1st big upragde i'll do on my bike.

Hmm, Icon knee armor and a spare set of tires maybe?

Then if you wind up needing tires later, you'll have a set and won't be caught short.

For me i'd want to be 100% comfortable with my protection before anything else. If you don't really trust the helmet, get rid of it. Since you have a jacket already, get the exhaust next.

That's how I'd do it.

Nicer, more comfortable lid will definately make your riding more enjoyable.

I have already decided on my next lid, just a matter of saving up the $600 for an Arai RX-7 Corsair

Exhaust, exhaust and then exhaust, in that order.

Once you put your new helmet or armour on it will be no different to what you now have. Every time you fire up the bike you will get a stupid grin on your face and be glad you bought the exhaust.
