Making a leather jacket water resistant?

Are there any treatments that you can put on a leather riding jacket to make it not get damaged in light precipitation?

There are a number of treatments for leather... you gotta first know what kind of leather you've got and how it was dyed, and finished.

Then go and read labels. Some treatments are harder to apply, but they tend to last longer. The spray on kind are for short term.

Leather Jacket? Dubbing should do it.

Although to be honest I've not done anything to Leather in the last seven years and its fine up to and including serious downpours, acts of cat etc...

I use a sneaker cleaner/protector in a spray can. Simple application and works like a charm.

Any leather shop will sell spray on Mink Oil or Orange Oil.

I know it sounds a lot like 'Snake Oil' but I've used it for months on my boots, and they repel water like nobody's business.
