I have a 2006 Harley Stnd Softail w/200mm Rear Tire...... My problem is the the plastic molding that holds and is behind the license plate is coming down and scraping the rear tire turning it into a slick with a flat spot, that soon shows all the cords coming through .......I took off the very bottom section, that had reflectors and took a torch to the plastic molding and tried to bend and form it out and away from the tire......I can sit on the seat and jump up and down and still only have a small clearance and if I add a passenger or heavy luggage strapped on to my sissybar it will start to rub again.
Is there any after market part that would help me to solve this problem? Maybe with an L shaped molding that would give me more clearance, so I could add a passenger or heavy travel bag?..... TIA for any help........
