Not really sure how else to describe it, but what songs do you listen to that bring up emotion, be it joy, sorrow, or just plain happiness that the song is playing?

Few for me:
Strung Out - Party In The Hills
Lovehatehero - Amity
After The Sirens - Arietta
Thrice - Stare At The Sun
Haste The Dat - Autumn

I have a gigantic list of songs that fit in this category, so I'll pick a few.

Blue Sky - Allman Bros. Band; Fireguzzi is dead on with this one, always puts me in a good mood.

Nessun Dorma from Turandot performed by Luciano Pavarotti is a great song.

Reasons by Earth Wind and Fire

Three Times a Lady by the Commodores

Don't Look Back - The Temptations

Proud Mary - Creedence (good time music)
Keep on Chooglin' - Creedence (boogie bliss)
A walk across the rooftops - Blue Nile (genius)
I love this life - Blue Nile (makes me feel like the world's my friend)
Dead skunk in the middle of the road - Loudon Wainwright III (I'm presuming rolling around on the floor laughing is legit here)
Scared to be alone - Dory Previn (twangs the heartstrings)
Jilted John - Jilted John (funniest thing ever)
Baba Munini Francis - Bhundu Boys (pure joy)
American Pie - Don Maclean (this one's personal)
No more heroes - The stranglers (simple agression)
Suzanne - Leonard Cohen (too full of longing for words)
Sweet Surrender - Tim Buckley (love, sex, pain, revenge, sheer vocal genius - all in one short track)
Oxygen - Willy Mason (radical good will)
Zaide - Berlioz (gets you with rhythm)
Sea Pictures - Elgar (beautiful)
Isolde's Liebstod - Wagner (the most ecstatic music ever written - no question)
Every moment of every song ever written by Rachmaninov (turns me jelly before I melt completely)

Hmm lets see:

Cardigans - Higher
Pink Floyd - High Hopes
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here (The Pulse concert version - some how this song is both happy and sad at the same time)
Radiohead - Talk Show Host
Groove Armada - Superstylin' (a superb mickey take that always cheers me up for some reason)
Led Zeppelin - Immigrant Song (I'm a firm believer that out of earshot of anyone else, every man will try to sing along with this song - I certainly do  )
Metallica - Call of Kutulu (The S&M concert version)

Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out

There are things in my past I wish I could change but it's too late.

A cool vid to go along with it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M2x6-koZe_0

Pink Floyd - High Hopes
Simon and Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence
The Black Mages - Those Who Fight Further (it's the final battle scene with Sephiroth from Final Fantasy VII for those who know the game)

Tonic - If You Could Only See

This song reminds me of a girl I used to know who I wish I could see again.

Kasabian - Club Foot (when I want to feel pumped)
Linkin Park - The Hybrid Theory album

These out of 4000 songs on my MP3 player  ... what? I'm also a musician and I do need stuff to listen to when working in the lab.

Way too many to list since I believe the music industry and the compositions of songs mostly come from the heart of the writer/singer. Thus, listening deeply to songs can really make a play with the emotions, both up and down. I believe music is the nucleus of our soul. I wouldn't know what to do if I ever became deaf.
