On Saturday I replaced the power steering hose on my truck...on Sunday I re-wired the rear drivers side door, now it all works...next Sunday, re-wiring the rear passenger side door...should be all good at that point...then maybe I can start on my bike...seems like there is a never ending list of things to work on...I wanna be a kid again and only have to take out the garbage and do the dishes!!

Later.

Taxed my bike & bought a new battery. Last winter the alarm drained the battery & as a result it was somewhat unreliable  so I vowed to get a new one this year.

I was looking forward to taking it out for a spin today (wed) complete with my new leathers but the forecast is heavy rain so I guess I will have to wait until Thursday.

The weekend weather looks fine & we are both off so I think a little trip out beckons :D

The sun finally showed itself today....and it was dry....so I drove to a lake after work and went for a short walk on a trail. Solar power does make one feel more energized.

If you put a battery tender on while it's winter stored, problem solved...

You are quite right & I realised that in hindsight. However we would need 2 & we don't have permament power to the shed.

Sounds like a good summer project - dig that trench for an electric cable.

Cheers for the tip tho :D

We had the same problem with both of our bikes here in the UK. Mike had to replace his battery twice (the second time under warranty after the winter killed the new one) and mine went during the winter time too. We learned our lesson that if you don't have a garage in the UK it's best to take the battery out during the winter. We thought you only had to do this in colder climates but I guess the UK is cold enough to do the damage. (The immobilizers/alarms just add to the problem!)

Hope you get out on a ride this weekend! :D

1. I made an appointment to get my passport renewed in London on Tuesday, in the hope of getting away to Europe the following week.

2. I rang into work this morning and arranged to take some emergency annual leave, then called a locksmith to come and change the locks on my doors to keep my ex-lodger out - to ensure that he is and remains my ex-lodger. (He has kept a key and has been coming into the house during the day.) Tonight I plan to put on a gas mask and rubber gloves to clean out his room...
