Australia's most exciting high-performance cars, boats, bikes and karts will be at Melbourne's Royal Exhibition Building in April for the first-ever FPM Motorexpo.

For three adrenalin-filled days, April 8-10, the fastest and most powerful road and race cars, bikes and karts will line up with sports and racing boats of all kinds.

Along with more than 200 high-performance machines will be their drivers and the clubs that support them.

Principle sponsor Dutton Motorsport will bring a mouth-watering selection of exotica and Penrite will have its dazzling Airstream caravan mobile showroom.

There will be race simulators, the "Back to the Future" De Lorean and eye-catching sponsor exhibits from Shannons, VCM Performance and Herrod Motorsport.

Show director Blair Warren said Motorexpo would showcase factory-built performance machines from all the leading brands around the world.

"We have Formula 1 cars and 250 km/h Superkarts to, a unique V8 motorbike and a racing ski boat worth half a million dollars," he said.

"For Peter Brock fans we have some of the most legendary cars he ever drove, while Italian motorcycle enthusiasts will love the Ducati 40th Anniversary Celebration display.

"Karting displays cover everything from recreational karts to full-on race machines, and boating highlights include 1100 kW jet sprint boats and a mind-blowing 200 km/h ocean hydroplane."

Star exhibits include ex-Jackie Stewart and Allan Jones grand prix cars, a Nissan Supercarpowered speed boat, a rare Le Mans racing Jaguar, Stephen Richards' BMW M6 GT3 race car, even a $25,000 McLaren-Specialised bicycle.

More than 40 trade exhibitors will offer high-performance products and services, and clubs will offer the opportunity to take up karts, bikes, cars and boats at both racing and recreational levels.

Motorexpo is a great family day out with adults admission from $30, family tickets from $70, children under five free, and special discounts for online bookings and club members.
