What was the strategy for the Sepang race?

Both Dani and Marc showed great pace in practice, but we knew that Jorge was also very fast, so the plan was to try and be strong from the beginning but to avoid stressing the tires too much, to have some “margin” at the end of the race. Dani did an unbelievable job, starting from pole and leading all the race, with a superb win. Unfortunately Marc has been involved in the accident with Valentino after a few laps.


Positive and negative points after the race?

Of course the positive is to see Dani so strong. Sepang is a very demanding circuit for the riders, and Dani has been able to do a great race. It means now we have no doubt: his arm, that has been a big issue at the beginning of this season and also last year, is now ok. The negative is clearly what happened to Marc.


The view from pit wall during the race?

We were very pleased to see both Dani and Marc doing a great start, as this season this didn’t happen so often. Dani always had the race under control but this time we have been busy for another reason… After the accident, I went to Race Direction to ask about their decision concerning what happened between Marc and Vale, but they didn’t want to speak until the end of the race. After we have been quite busy, with the riders hearing from Race Direction and FIM. We really hope this kind of situation won’t happen again in the future.


Inside story apart from official comments?

This was the third GP in three weeks, and it is a very demanding time for all of the team. One of the few "days off" of this period has been Tuesday before the GP in Malaysia. We went with some colleagues and Marc to Kuala Lumpur, going to see a big shop of electronics components and then, of course, to “China Town,” a well known market where you can find a lot of different products… it was funny to see Marc seeing some fake "93 merchandising” items, with the seller telling him that everything was 100% original!
