Smith ready for #French challenge

@Pata @Honda’s Kyle Smith is at the Magny-Cours circuit near Nevers in France for this weekend’s 11th round World Supersport championship event, aiming to add to his podium tally for the 2015 season.

The 24-year-old rider scored two third place finishes at Aragon and Assen earlier this year but has not been able to take his Honda CBR600RR back to the podium since April, finishing fourth last time out at Jerez in Spain.

The World Supersport debutant has visited the 4.411km Magny-Cours circuit twice before but was forced to retire from last year’s Superstock 1000 race because of problems with his helmet.

With two rounds remaining in the 2015 season, Smith is keen to put his CBR machine back on the box to finish the year on a high.

Kyle Smith

I’ve been here twice before and I really like the Magny-Cours track. There’s a fantastic mix of fast flowing corners and tighter technical sections so it’s a real challenge for a rider. Unfortunately I couldn’t finish the race last year because of a steamed-up visor, but that taught me a few things and it definitely won’t be happening again this year! I had a decent result in Jerez last time out and we know that the CBR works well here. In fact, it works everywhere so we’ll just have to make it happen and keep the current momentum going.

Pieter Breddels - technical co-ordinator

Jerez showed again that both Kyle and the CBR have real podium potential so, once again, the whole team will be striving toward giving him a bike to do just that. We all want to finish the last two races of the season in a really strong way.
