Love #Ride's Grand Finale Teams Up With Wounded Warrior #Project

Grand Marshall Jay Leno, and the Foo Fighters Will Join Motorcycle Enthusiasts to Support WWP
JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Sept. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Sunday, October 18, 2015, the world famous Love Ride will roll one last time. Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) will participate in the grand finale of the single-day motorcycle fundraising event, the longest running event of its kind in the world. Since 1981 Love Ride and its supporters have raised over $24 million for a variety of local and national causes.
Love Ride 32 will continue its tradition of kicking off the event with a morning concert, a celebrity-filled press conference followed by a 5-mile motorcycle trek led once again by Grand Marshall Jay Leno along with honorary Grand Marshalls Peter Fonda (3:10 To Yuma) and Robert Patrick (Terminator 2). The route will take participants from Harley-Davidson of Glendale, California to Castaic Lake State Recreation Area.
In its three-decade history, the Love Ride has hosted many celebrity participants such as Bruce Springsteen, Malcolm Forbes, Larry Hagman, Steven Tyler, Billy Idol, David Crosby and many more. The award-winning Foo Fighters will join other special musical guests Social Distortion, American Hitmen and The Long Run, in their last Southern California performance of the year.
"Love Ride is an event that embodies the freedom, fellowship and camaraderie we want for our Alumni," said John Roberts, warrior relations executive vice president for Wounded Warrior Project. "We are extremely grateful for their support this year. Their staff and organizers have done amazing work, and we will miss their tireless efforts and amazing spirit of generosity."
Along with the Southern California Harley-Davidson (HD) Dealers Association, Love Ride is a proud advocate of WWP's mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors. All donations will go through the Love Ride Foundation and at the close of the event, 100% of the proceeds will go to WWP and its 20 free lifesaving programs and services that are designed to engage warriors, nurture their minds and bodies, and encourage their economic empowerment.
Since 2003, WWP has grown to meet the evolving needs of the constituency it serves. Currently, WWP provides support to more than 76,000 injured service members and over 13,000 caregivers and family support members. Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP's vision is to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.
