V-Rod Power Keeps Hines Out Front After Two of Six Playoff Rounds

MADISON, Ill. (September 27, 2015) – Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Andrew Hines leads the battle for the 2015 NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle championship after two of six events in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Flexing the motor-muscle of a Harley-Davidson® V-Rod motorcycle, Hines qualified second at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park and advanced to the second round of eliminations on Sunday.

After two rounds of Countdown competition, Hines leads the Pro Stock Motorcycle division by 34 points.

“We’ve got a strong V-Rod motorcycle to race,” said Hines, the defending Pro Stock Motorcycle champion. “The competition in the class is tough and we’ve got to be on our game every round to bring home another title. We are looking forward to Reading next week where I think the weather will complement our Harley-Davidson powertrain.”

Harley-Davidson® Screamin’ Eagle®/Vance & Hines rider Ed Krawiec qualified the team’s other V-Rod motorcycle fifth at Gateway and lost in the first round of Sunday eliminations. Krawiec is currently third in Countdown points, 51 points behind Hines.

The third round of the NHRA Countdown to the Championship takes place Oct. 2-4 at the 31st NHRA Keystone Nationals at Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, Pa.
