Team Suzuki Press Office – August 4.

Team Suzuki Stoneline Mayer rider Tatu Lauslehto retained his lead in the German IDM Supersport Championship after finishing third-and-fifth at the weekend’s sixth round at Schleiz.

The Finn now heads the series by 12 points heading into next weekend’s IDM event at Assen in The Netherlands. He said: “The first race went well. I was near the front early on and managed to finish third at the end.” Race two saw the 31-year-old in podium-reach again and he decided to take no risks for his championship-chase and finished just 0.8-seconds behind third place.

HPC Power Suzuki Racing’s Christian Stange started the race from third place on the grid and battled for the lead with Jan Bühn. Stange crashed and dropped back considerably but the 17-year-old fought-back to 14th at the flag. In race two the German teenager just missed-out on a podium result, taking the chequered flag in fourth.

Sarah Heide (Team Suzuki Laux ADAC Sachsen) used a German national race the preview weekend to record valuable testing-time at the Schleizer course and finished within the top-10 in both Supersport races. She now lies sixth in the series, on equal points with fifth.

Stefan Ströhlein (Team Suzuki Laux-Oppemann) also scored a top-10 result in the first heat and followed-up with 12th in race two.
