Hollis in hot form at @Kyogle @AORC

#CDR @Yamaha's Chris Hollis continues his impressive finish to the 2015 Australian Off Road Championship (AORC) season with another barnstorming performance at rounds nine and ten of the championship in wet and soggy conditions at Kyogle in Northern NSW.

Overnight rain meant a delay to the start as well as a change of format with the scraping of Cross Country style of racing to a more manageable sprint format.

With injuries still sidelining CDR Yamaha team mate, Tom McCormack, Hollis was the lone ranger in flying the flag for the team and immediately put his YZ450F at the front of the pack on day one.

Hollis traded blows with championship leader, Toby Price, throughout the day on what was a very technical and challenging course. Hollis came out on top of that duel and claimed the round nine victory.

Sunday saw the duo at it again, only this time Price taking the upper hand with Hollis fighting hard. Hollis wasn't able to close the gap to Price and had to settle for second place but still satisfied with a solid weekends work.

"It wasn't an easy weekends' riding, that's for sure," Hollis said at the end of competition. "The rain on Friday night made things really difficult as it was muddy and slippery in places while other areas were super soft and boggy. You really had to stay focused and keep your momentum.

"It didn't rain for Sunday but the course was still tough to ride from the day prior.

"It was good to get a win on Saturday and battle with Toby. The last couple of rounds have been between us so it was good to pinch one off him and get the CDR Yamaha out front. Sunday he was just a bit quicker than me, but I'm happy with how things went and will continue to work hard and finish the championship strongly."

The successful weekend now sees Hollis move to fourth outright in the championship, this despite missing two rounds sue to injury. He also has clawed his way to fourth in the E2 class (450cc), just five points from second place with two rounds remaining.
