#Beta Podiums in #Everett
#EnduroCross continued with it's third straight weekend of racing this past Saturday. This time, EnduroCross headed to the far west in Everett, Washington for Round 7 of the series. Contrary to the track in Salt Lake City, Everett hosted a longer track with lap times close to one minute and a few true technical EnduroCross obstacles including a difficult rock section that even challenged the best.
Going into the night show, both Cody Webb and Max Gerston set their sights on the podium. Webb successfully took the fastest hot lap and momentum from his first heat where he won by roughly 20 seconds over Taddy Blasuziak. Gerston excelled in his heat taking second aboard his Factory Beta 350 RR.
Webb carries the red plate into the eighth round in Boise!
In the main, Webb secured third place after falling while leading. Webb recaps his night, "I started out riding tight on the technical course in Everett before finding my groove. I walked away with the win in my heat race and got the top hot lap, giving me two extra points towards the championship. My Beta 300 RR was performing perfect in the main and I was able to open up a nice gap for the lead. Unfortunately, a miscue in the rock pile and a misplaced foot in a deep hole sent me to the ground. I lost a bunch of time getting my clutch perch back up to finish out the race. I was happy to get a podium finish and salvage the points lead going into Boise."
Gerston remains consistent with a 7th place in Everett.
Meanwhile, Gerston fought his way through the pack with the achievement of a podium on his mind. "Everett EnduroCross was fun," said Max Gerston. "The track was long and flowy with some super technical sections thrown in. My 350 RR was hooking up in the slippery rocks and I was able to fight my way to a 7th place in the main. I had fun and will continue to fight for a podium before years end."
Webb finishes 3rd and keeps his points lead.
By night's end, Cody Webb came away with a 3rd and Max Gerston finished 7th. In November, EnduroCross will resume in Boise, Idaho. Before then, Cory Buttrick, Justin Sode, and Nick Burson will travel to Argentina to compete in the International Six Days Event for the Beta USA club team.
