Mike,

I had a look at the guide and thanks for your efforts.

In a few years, I am likely to get a Super Tenere and as the 2015 is listed as a new model, I had a peek. The only thing I could find that was different from 2014 was the choice of available colours. The S10 got a big update in 2014, so I did not find this surprising.

Safe Travels,
Richard

Glad you liked the new 2015 Yamaha Guide, I just finished putting up all the bikes just before noon today. Still have some European ones to cherry pick and put up still... did you see the 2015 Concept 01GEN I put up there this afternoon?

Yes, I'm not always sure why Yamaha lists certain bikes as "new" vs others, sometimes they just want to draw attention to it or it might be a minor update like a new seat (ie, the Bolt got a new seat this year).

I was just amazed at the amount of new Yamaha bikes, I guess Yamaha is trying to take over the world?! lol.

Mike,

I went and had a look at the Concept 01GEN, and I just don't know what to think about it. Other than for hacks, I think a motorcycle should only have two, 2, a pair, not one, not three, but exactly 2 wheels. The only exception to this rule being for motorcycles with attached side cars which are just cool.

With an understanding of this bias, I think it great that design teams are trying to stretch the envelope.

I do think they where trying too hard to give this machine the form of a dolphin when viewed in profile, it is overly contrived. What I like most are forms that arise naturally from function, like the shape of my dear wife. Ooops did I just say that ... *hide*. A dolphin surfing a bow wave is a wonder to behold; beautiful, graceful, exhibiting an economy of motion. The same form grafted onto a machine going down the highway just looks awkward, irrational, out of place, an assault on the sensible.

Safe Travels,
Richard
