#MXGP: Charlier recovering after minor leg operation

#Yamaha Factory Racing rider Christophe Charlier has returned home today after surgery on Friday in Aix en Provence on his right leg to fix a small fracture at the bottom of the fibula and after a successful procedure is now on the fast-track to return to MX2 FIM Motocross World Championship duty as soon as possible.

Charlier was forced to withdraw from the second moto of the Grand Prix of Thailand after catching his right foot beneath the footpeg and ground around the Si Racha circuit. The Corsican went for a medical check with some swelling around the joint. After travelling home and undergoing consultation with two more doctors in Europe the former European Champion was advised to fix the malleolus section of the fibula with nine small screws and a plate and this operation was carried out in France yesterday.

As conservative estimate will have Christophe back in action on the works YZ250FM by the Grand Prix of Netherlands on May 4th (round six of eighteen) although depending on the speed and progress of his rehab he could make a return for the Bulgaria round of the series at Sevlievo on April 20th.
