#Yamaha Continues to Inject Life into @AORC for 2014

Yamaha Motor Australia has again shown its commitment to motorcycle racing in Australia by throwing its support behind the 2014 Australian Off-Road Championships, taking up the naming rights of the high profile championship for another year.

As in previous years, the series will be run under the title banner of The Yamaha Australian Off- Road Championship, contested over 12 rounds with the opening round in March. It is the premier off road / endurance motorcycling championship in Australia with the 2013 number 1 plate belonging to factory CDR Yamaha rider, Daniel Milner.

"Yamaha are again excited to be the major sponsor of the Australian Off- Road championship for 2014," states Motorsport Manager, Ray Howard. "We have a long history with the championship both in terms of sponsorship and racing success and hope to continue the association for many years to come.

"Supporting championships like the AORC, Enduro X, MX Nationals and the Australasian Superbike Championship are part of the commitment Yamaha has for racing in Australia and we have assisted some of the best riders, across all disciplines, in achieving their goals.

"Racing is a passion at Yamaha Australia and we look forward to another successful year working with the AORC team," Howard ends.

Championship co-ordinator, Denise hole is also excited to have Yamaha on board again for 2014 and recognises the vital role Yamaha Australia plays in off road racing.

"There is no doubt that without the support of Yamaha Australia, the AORC would struggle in this current economic climate. The sponsorship Yamaha provides to the AORC gives all riders an opportunity to compete in a well ran and world recognised championship and over the years we have forged a fantastic relationship that continues to prosper.

"On behalf of the AORC committee we again welcome Yamaha Australia as the naming rights sponsor and hope to further both the Yamaha and AORC brands in 2014," hole explains.

Yamaha will also have a huge presence on the trail with two factory supported teams in the AORC. The CDR Yamaha Off –Road team of Daniel Milner and Chris Hollis as well as the Active8 Yamaha team of Josh Green, Tom McCormack and Stefan Granquist will be in the thick of the action and compete in several championship classes.

Add to that the return of Emelie Karlsson, the 2013 Women’s championship, and Jemma Wilson competing in the Ladies class and both be mounted on the all new YZ250F. Yamaha also offer support to selected riders in the junior and amateur ranks with plenty of riders on board Australia’s highest selling dirt bike, the mighty Yamaha WR450F, as it a machine designed and built to handle the rough and tumble conditions of Australia and the AORC courses.
