#FIM Gala rounds off a great year for @KTM #Racing

A picture says a thousand words! Perhaps the best illustration of KTM Racing's success in 2013 in a whole range of disciplines is the KTM ‘family photograph’ at the recent FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) Gala. The event concluded an amazing year for the company, its teams and riders.

In 2013 another 17 World Championship titles (nine rider titles and eight manufacturer’s titles) were added to KTM’s already impressive list of a total of 241.

For Pit Beirer, Head of KTM Motorsports, it was a season highlight to be on stage with his lineup of successful riders representing World Championship titles in 2013 in MX1 (Antonio Cairoli), MX2 (Jeffrey Herlings), Moto3 (Maverick Vinales), Enduro1 (Antoine Meo), Enduro 3 (Christophe Nambotin) and SuperEnduro (Taddy Blazusiak). Underlining the presence of bright young MX riders ready to step into the boots of their heroes, on stage were also the Junior World Champions in the 125 cc, 85 cc and 65 cc classes – Pauls Jonass (who took his second consecutive 125 title), Conrad Mewes and Aiden Tijero.

Pit Beirer: “World Championships are always a team effort. It is the riders who receive the medals, but they also belong to their teams and all of the support staff that contribute the passion and dedication that makes it happen. It is their enthusiasm for the sport and for developing, manufacturing and maintaining our winning KTM machinery that is a decisive factor in our success.”

Beirer underlined that work was already well underway ahead of the 2014 season. He said competition next year would be tighter and the challenges to stay on top continue to increase along with the teams’ success. “We are aware of the pressure and we will do our best to continue to deliver winning races in the spirit of good sportsmanship and in the interest of promoting our sport.”
