Charity Dirt #Bike Ride Raises $50,000 For #Kids With #Cancer

Australia's biggest charity dirt bike event, the KTM Ride4Kids, was held last weekend at the Dandenong Motorcycle Club in Wonthaggi, Victoria, raising close to $50,000 for children living with cancer and their families.

This year marked the event's 12th year attracting dirt bike riders from all over Victoria for a full day of non-competitive motocross and enduro riding.

A fantastic line up of pro riders attended the day including Toby Price, Wayde Carter, Callum Norton, Cameron Taylor, Jackson Williams, Matt Talty and Wyatt Fogarty, performing an exhibition round for the crowd and also ‘cutting some laps' with children with cancer.

A massive congratulations and thank you to the highest fundraiser for the event, 11-year-old Toby Anning, who raised just under $5000 for Challenge to win a 2014 KTM 85 SX bike! This is a brilliant effort by young Toby! All riders or spectators who raised over $300 or more went into the draw to win a second KTM bike, which was won by Ray Van Breen, who kindly donated the bike back to Challenge.

Challenge CEO, David Rogers, said, "In a very tough and competitive market place, raising funds can be a very difficult task. For the last 12 years, Challenge has worked consistently with the dirt bike community to create the Ride4Kids event. This year was a great success with many individual riders raising a significant amount of donation money which allowed us to raise close to $50,000. This is an outstanding effort for the 150 riders who attended on the day.

"We'd also like to extend our sincere gratitude to the many volunteers who help out on the day, whether that be with registration, scrutineering or the canteen, among many other tasks. It's these people who help us make this day possible and we are lucky to have such a great network of supporters. A huge thanks also to our event sponsors KTM, Peter Stevens Motorcycles, Evolution Bikes, Scott, Fox and O'Neal Racing."
