Tough weekend at #Hawkstone Park for #Buildbase @Honda

Following a three-week break, Buildbase Honda returned to Hawkstone Park this weekend for the sixth round of the Red Bull Pro Nationals.

The weekend started well with Nico Aubin and Brad Anderson producing strong results on the rough and technical track to qualify third and eighth respectively. In race one on Saturday, both riders suffered problems early on but managed to fight back with Anderson finishing third and Aubin in seventh.

The second race of the weekend on Sunday began with Aubin looking more comfortable on the Honda CRF450R as he stormed to the front with Anderson close behind. Unfortunately a small mistake saw him drop back to sixth, while Anderson finished in fourth.

The final race began with both Buildbase Honda riders inside the top five until Aubin crashed out and remounted at the back of the field. Anderson meanwhile challenged for a podium place, but in the final laps he also crashed, rejoining to finish fifth. Aubin and Anderson now lie second and third respectively in the overall standings.

It’s been a bit of a tough weekend, Brad has been riding well but his results maybe don’t reflect it. We have been trying new things and we have a clearer direction to go in now. For Nico it’s been challenging on a track that he normally enjoys, but he is ok and not injured and will now focus on the last round.

Brad Anderson
This weekend has been a positive weekend, we have been testing new set up for the bike and got it working much better on the Sunday. It’s just a shame about the crash in the last race, otherwise I would have been on the podium but we will get things right for the next race.

Nico Aubin
This weekend has not been great for me. I haven’t really clicked with things. The bike and fitness were both really good but I just kept making mistakes. The main thing is I’m not hurt and can focus on the last round at Culham.
