The iconic Hayabusa helped Suzuki steal the show at the Queensland Raceway ASBK round.

While GSX-R riders Robbie Bugden and Wayne Maxwell were starring on the track, a plethora of owners used the Hayabusa Show and Shine event to transform the pit area into their own Hayabusa Heaven.

A brace of Suzuki's finest were on display, from all generations and in various colour schemes alongside some shining new examples of the 2013 version.

The array of high performance Suzuki metal provided the judging panel - made up of three-time ASBK champion Shawn Giles, Team Suzuki Race Manager Phil Tainton, IEG Managing Director Yarrive Konsky and Suzuki Australia Motorcycles General Manager Perry Morison - with plenty of headaches.

"The Hayabusa is the true icon of high performance motorcycles and we were delighted with the response from local enthusiasts," said Morison.

"In just 15 years the Hayabusa has carved a reputation as the definitive hyper sportsbike and that was reflected in the enthusiasm of the owners who showed up."

IEG chief Konsky praised the initiative of Suzuki Australia in combining the passion for the Hayabusa with the fans attending the ASBK round.

"It was a privilege to host the launch of such an iconic motorcycle as the Hayabusa, and we were delighted to host the Hayabusa Show and Shine as part of the exciting itinerary. It added a terrific element for the big crowd in attendance," said Konsky.

Prizes were awarded to Best Custom, Best Original, Best in Show and Racer's Choice.

Each winner was awarded a commemorative plaque and a Suzuki goodies bag.

Morison said the Suzuki Australia events team had begun preliminary planning to make the Hayabusa Show and Shine an annual event.
