Tough weekend for #Buildbase #Honda

24 June 2013, 15:36

Buildbase Honda had a tough weekend at the Desertmartin circuit in Northern Ireland for round six of the ACU Maxxis British Motocross Championship, battling with poor weather conditions, ever-changing track surfaces and Nico Aubin suffering from illness, but wildcard rider Jason Clermont still showed his talent in the dismal circumstances.

Poorly Aubin and fellow Frenchman Clermont arrived at the track hoping for good results, but the rain-drenched sandy track was going to be difficult to master. Aubin and Clermont had a great start in the first moto with both riders running in the top-five, but sand filled their radiator grills causing their engines to overheat, which consequently put an end to their race.

In moto two, both riders were determined not to let the circuit get the better of them and Aubin crossed the line in sixth place. Clermont got a poor start out of the gate, but managed to fight through the pack to take 13th come the flag.

For the final moto of the day the rain had finally stopped, but conditions were still tricky. Both riders started well but five laps in, Aubin had no choice but to retire from the race due to exhaustion from his illness. Clermont battled through to finish in 12th place.
