@Johnson eighth as #Honda #TT wins reach 163


The Isle of Man TT Superstock race took place in the stunning evening sun today as Honda TT Legends rider Gary Johnson brought his Fireblade home in eighth place. After swapping places a few times in the early stages, the Lincolnshire man settled into eighth on the timesheets on lap two and held steady for the remainder of the four-lap race.



It was another successful day for Honda overall as the manufacturer’s tally of TT race wins rose to 163 thanks to Padgetts MMCG Racing’s double victory. Australian rider Bruce Anstey stood on the top spot on the Supersport podium, while TT legend John McGuinness claimed his first ever victory in the Superstock class to take his number of overall wins to 19.



McGuinness’ Honda TT Legends team mate Simon Andrews is in good spirits following his crash during Saturday’s Superbike race. He requires no further surgery to the clean breaks to his wrist and ankle and is due to be discharged from hospital within the next couple of days.



The Isle of Man TT will now take a one-day break before racing resumes on Wednesday 6 June with the second Supersport race and the TT Zero Challenge.
