STRONG #INDOPRIX START FOR #SUZUKI TEAMS



Team Suzuki's Indoprix riders Harlan Fadhillah and Achmad Kohar raced to solid points-scoring positions in the opening round of the 2012 Indoprix road racing championship in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday.

The Yoshimura-backed 110cc and 125cc riders finished sixth and 13th respectively in their classes, but came away from the race at Sentul Circuit positive of improvement for the next round aboard the Suzuki AHRS and Suzuki Chia Felix machines.

Harlan - who took second in qualifying on the grid for both IP110 and IP125 - started the 110cc final in third place, but slipped off and then recovered from seventh to then tangle with another rider, injuring his leg. The race was red-flagged with just three laps remaining.

Despite his injury, Harlan started the first IP125 Final and was fighting in the leading pack, but suffered tyre problems and dropped from the top group to bring his Suzuki home in sixth place. In the second race, Harlan again suffered tyre issues and saw his hopes of victory - from a second-row start - fade as the race progressed, eventually finishing in ninth.

In the IP110 second final, Harlan was third and running in a pack of eight riders when rain hit the circuit and he crashed. This left Suzuki's Chia Felix rider Kohar to score points as he finished the race in 11th.
