Hopefully, they WILL get into a power war. Why should only the sport bikes have the best performance? Why should we have to ride in a twisted pretzel position to have a high-performance bike? To me. the whole point of the naked bikes was to have a bike that looks like a motorcycle, not a piece of rolling plastic. And what's wrong with "that mentality" of wanting a top-performing bike? Performance is one of the most exciting things about motorcycles. Otherwise why not ride a moped or a Vespa?

TOO powerful, for a street bike is annoying.

Sure I want a bike that will haul @ss when I crank the throttle, but even on my humble 500, the bike never seems to enjoy going slow - when at low speeds it jerks forward, and the engine uneasily buzzes as though saying "come on you wuss! let's race!"

Yes, too much power would just be annoying while fighting traffic. You want enough power to navigate a freeway @ 75mph, but not so much that you're fighting the bike @ 5mph.
