Kawasaki dropped production of the 22 year old Vulcan 750.

There will be no Kawasaki Vulcan 750 for 2007, the bike has been
made since 1984, and has had only very minor changes. :shock:

It was about the only bike that had Shaft drive, Hydraulic Lifters, Liquid cooling and had a Gas gage to boot.

I love my Vulcan 750 and will keep it forever.

The displacement wars claim another victim. :(

The strange thing is that as the engines get bigger the HP/torque doesn't go up like you'd expect.

Big bore cruiser == the new SUV gas-guzzler? :frusty:

Doh! That sucks as the Vulcan 750 was near the top of my list when I wa bike shopping. Well, I guess I'll be able to get it for a bit cheaper down the line...

Yep, your right...they are really pushing the 900 model, infact I read
that there were going to be 3 900 models out in 2007.

I'm hangin on to my Vulcan 750, it's all I need to cruise the Freeway at
70+.

Many Vulcan 750 riders still can't believe there bike has been dumped by Kawasaki.

Does anyone know how long Kawasaki continues to make parts for any bike?

All motor vehicle manufacturers are required to produce/stock replacement parts for every model they make for at least 7 years after production ends. I think it's 7 years.... something like that, anyways.... you get the idea.... :roll: :roll:

Actually, it's 10 years. Can check the FAQ at www.ronayers.com which is where I got the information. It's the body parts that become more and more unobtainable after production has ceased.

Maintenance parts they'll continue to make for a very very long time and in the event them discontinue it, usually a part from another bike is a direct replacement. Also since the Vulcan was made for 20+ years, they'll be a lot of donor bikes around. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

My bike was only made for 2 years and I can still find parts at dealerships both online and brick and mortar. A lot of the pieces have been discontinued, but EBAY is my best friend...

Nothing against the 750, but the 900 is one helluva nice ride! I imagine the 750 got the axe due to dated styling that nobody was going for any longer. Sure, it's a great utilitarian motorcycle, but just lost its curb appeal.

Yeah I agree about the 900. I've sat on the regular and touring models and it feels very very nice. Too bad the dealership doesn't offer test rides or I'd be tempted to buy one from the reviews I've read.

It's a shame that Kawasaki hasn't updated the looks of th VN750. Underneath the dated 80's styling is one hell of a bike. Personally I don't mind the styling that much, but I guess I'm biased since I ride an 80's cruiser.
