The Michelin Pilot Activ tires sound good.

Does anyone have any experience with these tires? Or any recommendations? I do not need high performance tires. I need tires suitable for the highway and city roads.

I was also looking at some Dunlop tires and bias tires were recommended for my bike.

Is there a tremendous difference between radial and bias on bikes?

There is some good motorcycle tire information on this link from Dunlop. It applies to all makes of motorcycles tires.

Here's another site that has some good information on motorcycle tires;

I hope this helps.

I usually use Avon Venom tires on my Harley and find they work very well.

Thanks. There is a lot of good information in those two sites.

Are your Avon tires sticky and how much mileage do you average on them?
I have 28,000km on my current tires. Other than the tread is getting low, they are still in decent shape. I know I'm on borrowed time though, so I'll get new tires soon.
Maybe even at the bike show if there are some good promos there.

The Avon Venom have good grip in both dry and wet situations and I get 2000 to 4000 Km more wear over the original Dunlop tires that come stock on the Harley. The Avon tires cost a little more but I like them.

Here's a link to the Avon Venom;

I don't know what tires you have on your motorcycle so it may be different as to wear time etc.

The Vancouver Motorcycle Show should be interesting this year. I noticed that they expanded it last year. There is usually some good deals to be had. This year I'm going on Thursday to hopefully beat the traffic and crowds.

Good luck Blues.

It was brought to my attention that I got good mileage because of a few factors.
My riding style for one.
Lighter weight bike (650)
Never a passenger which means a lighter load.

The heavier the bike and load, the shorter the lifespan of a tire.

I looked that Avon site. It suggested Venom for the back and Road runner for the front.
My friend had Avon's on his last bike and It seems to me that he got good mileage on those tires.
I will definitely look into them.

thanks.
