Yamaha Silverado 1700

#1 Unread post by abell »

We are considering purchasing a 2006 Yamaha Silverado 1700 tour bike, but we are concerned with high maintenance costs with the hydraulic valves.
We have been comparing this to the Kawasaki 900, and the Boulevard C90T. We would appreciate any opinions you can offer or another bike that we should consider. We will be riding 2 up and using the bike for daily commuting and long trips. We are novice riders at this point but will be taking the Riders Edge Course this weekend.

thanks

yup, you have to apparantly adjust the valves every 6000kms, or so. My mechanic says it's a bit overblown, though.

If you want to do it as the manual demands, it's easy to do yourself. I've got a document that explains it with pics, if you want it, PM me.
