There is a chance one could come off and get hung up in something resulting in a bad outcome but I have used one in the past without an problems. Like another poster said, just watch what your doing with it.

I have exactly the same net as you Pete. Same hooks n everything lol.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Same here as well. I've been using it to strap my backpack to the pillion seat instead of wearing it. Man it's nice not to have that weight hanging on your shoulders.

smaller holes, moveable hooks rule

I like the cargo nets that have smaller holes, so you can carry small stuff without it getting ejected. Aerostich.com sells a nice one, unstretched the holes are about 1.5"x1.5" (ask them if it really matters to you). Some shops probably carry the same thing. Also, look for cargo nets where the hooks can be moved around as needed. Makes it easier to secure to your bike.
