**Burning**"HOT" Tires

#1 Unread post by MotoF150 »

OK Was out for a ride today, yes it was hot out, after I ended my ride and stopped I put my hand on my rear tire a Pirelli MT66, it was soooo hot I almost burnt my hand! Im thinking thats good, when its hot that means its gripping the road like glue, better traction, better grip, you know like the drag racers burn their tires before they start their run for a better grip, huh? Burning Hot Tire,,,, Good?,,,,,or Bad?

There is a fine line between hot and sticky and hot and slippery.
Depends how hard you ride I guess.

You do realize there's no such word as burnt right?

Just like "heighth" isn't a word either, but people still say it.

"burnt" is the past participle of burn (i.e. "Burnt Ember")

You do know that you aren't supposed to spray the tire with lighter fliud and take a match to it right?

I mean, I know it LOOKS cool, but you're wasting that $80 tire you bought.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

im not that dumb, I know tires will burn, I used to camp out in the woods and you can always find an old tire around and we light it and sit around the fire it makes, it burns hot but makes a lot of smoke and all that is left is the steel belts and the metal bead wire.

YES, this explains it. Poisoning from inhaling all the toxins that come out of a burning tire. No wonder he's such a tard.
