:wowza: Hello everyone!! My name is Aftershock, and I come from the Evergreen state about 15 miles North of the Beaver state which is in some ways redundant, but I digress...I will be soon going to the MSF Clark county course to FINALLY learn how to ride without accidentally committing suicide (yes I know suicide is an action that can only be done on purpose so :tease: .)

I am looking forward to hopefully meeting some other newbs such as myself and also take in some advise from the experienced to whom I salute :respect: !!!!

Take care folks

PS BE SAFE (I know I'm gonna get beaned by beer bottles for saying that but oh well :shooting2:

Originally I was considering getting a Yamaha R6S but after reading some of the advice peices Im not really sure. I have given thought to possibly sitting on a Ninja250 to see how that feels. Oh well I'll find something I like but am not going to be serious about buying a bike until after I take the MSF course. :)

I like my Ninja 250 - it has served me well. It is a very predictable ride. I think - at its heart, a predictable ride is what you want for a first bike.

:bike6: You are right that a bike with better predictability would be advantageous especially for a newbie such as myself. I guess I started thinking too much about the freeway commutes that I do for school. The reality is probably that I won't be doing any freeway riding until I am VERY comfortable with shifting and just having the experiance under my belt.
