Re: How many times have you dropped your bike?
There's several ways to drop a bike, and I'm guilty of all of them. For street bikes: 1. No skills. Haven't done this since I was a beginner, fortunately. When I was learning in 2004, I dropped a Honda Reflex scooter. I was practicing emergency braking, did it too hard and locked up the rear wheel. ...

Re: Only Experienced bikers need reply.
There are very few people I trust enough to ride with and I find the journeys are more enjoyable without the stress of keeping up or slowing down while wondering what the rider in front and/or behind is going to do next. What Gummi said. Aside from Mrs. Stark, the list of people I'll ride with does...

Re: Riding partners?
Wife's got her own bikes, a BMW F650GS for street, and a Yamaha XT250 for off pavement. There was a situation last spring where her F650GS was parked about 7 miles away, and she had to ride pillion with me to go get it. It was her first time ever riding pillion. She swears that will also be her last...

Re: The Blog of Blues
KKrap. I just wrote a big entry and it disappeared. I've been having problems with posting.... I login and write something, and then when I go to post, it tells me to log in again, at which point I've lost what I wrote. I pinged TotalMike about it a few weeks ago, and he did something on the server...

Re: Wrider's Scribblings
Amerigo, I have no idea why you posted this question in Wrider's blog, as he hasn't been active on this forum in about 4 years. But the answer to your question is, "it depends". Here's an excellent article on Revilla's website that will give you more info about motorcycle engines and octan...

Re: Helmet Habits
I was curious what had become of TMW and I'm really sad to see it like this. I'm not on FB, it's a terrible app but nobody seems to notice or care. If the forums die off, that's a wrap for me, I'm not following everyone over to that nightmare. As you see, it's pretty dead. There's still a handful o...

I buy $200-$400 helmets in the $100-$200 range when I can find 'em on sale, closeout, etc.
