For me i'd want to be 100% comfortable with my protection before anything else. If you don't really trust the helmet, get rid of it. Since you have a jacket already, get the exhaust next.

That's how I'd do it.

From everything i've read, the yamaha is pretty much a street legal race bike. It has no mid range torque and all the useable power is only available after 10000rpm. Not a very street friendly bike.
