Re: This Week - 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT Limited: Vote and Disc

I would love to have one of these in my garage. So what if it's as wide as a car and doesn't lean? It looks like it would be a blast to ride, and for those who can no longer manage two wheels, or just don't want two wheels, this is an awesome riding alternative. And if I still wanted to lean hard, I...

Re: WHAT!!! just checked out the suzuki website.

Yep...the first time I saw a picture of the TU250 I wanted to at least test ride one, but CA doesn't get a lot of bikes now. If it's a really good beginner bike, chance are CA will never see it :/

Re: This Week's Bike: 2012 Suzuki Boulevard S40 - Vote & Dis

They're decent first bikes, but unless they've changed how lean they run, they backfire like crazy. Cool bike, but not awesome just for that...

I must admit, were I looking for a scooter, the TMax would be at the top of the list. I just wish the US could get the ABS model... If we could, I have a Gladius I'd trade for one...

Re: Need help on narrowing down decision (Rebel or Shadow)

I rode a Rebel for a year and a half; it'll do 80 on the Interstate all day long with no issues. You just have to learn how to wind it up before shifting gears. And I'm not a light person... It's a fun little bike, very forgiving, very good as a first bike. The engine is tough and built to take the ...

Re: Need Advice on Which Bike to Get

I think I am looking for something a bit less sport bike oriented. I've heard the vulcan 800 has good ground clearance for a cruiser. Opinions on that? I love the look of the triumph bonneville and thruxton though. I've ridden around a 500cc Buell Blast and it was fun, but at times felt a little un...

Re: This VERSUS That...input on my new purchase

If you're only keeping it for a couple of years, save the money and buy the less expensive bike. Set the difference aside to defray the cost of your future bike...or use it to buy quality gear if you don't already have some.

Re: Touring purchase advice, 250 horror, and more!

On this note, what's your opinion on a boulevard c50 for this application? (2 up, long trips, 80mph for hours at a time with minimal stopping) The Spouse Thingy has one; he'd have no issues with using it for long trips and it'll do 80 all day long. I'm not sure it would be the best choice for 2 up ...

Awesome. Very awesome. The only reason I don't have one in my garage right now is that I wanted mag wheels instead of spoke, so I opted for the base Bonneville. Fun to ride, tons of aftermarket stuff available...

Re: Please help us in choosing bike

Mr. Stubborn  here insists he can handle a Kawasaki Vulcan 800cc or a Honda Shadow 750cc Either of those is not an unreasonable first bike...both fit into the general under 800cc rule of thumb for first cruisers. BUT He should probably have about 6 months-1 year experience before taking a pas...

Re: Upper body armor? Necessary or not?

I believe in gear, but not overkill...I think the armor already in good m/c jackets is enough. Anything more and you'd be tempted to just not bother, or you'd wind up so hot you'd have other issues. The best gear is the gear you'll actually wear...

Re: Freeway riding: Right or Left lane?

Fast lane in general I find safer...but when traffic is moving at 85+ in that lane, I get over. Whether I go into the center lane or slow lane depends on how much traffic, time of day, how close together onramps and exits are...

Yes, it's me.
No, I don't ride like that normally.
It was certainly refreshing, though, in spite of the laughter I could hear all around me...
