Re: Help with bike decision

The only way to know if the bike would be too small is to go test sit. I really doubt it would be...my 6'2" son was able to ride my tiny Rebel with no issues at all, and the 883 is a whole lot bigger than that. If you're drawn to Harleys, look at the 1200s, too. My initial gut reaction for a beginne...

Re: Looking for gear

I have the EXO-900 and really like it; the Spouse Thingy also has it and is less thrilled, but he has a giant round head and I'm not sure it's made for seriously round heads of a weirdly large proportion...try it on and keep it on for a good 15-20 minutes if you can, see if you develop any hot spots...

The way it's set up, there's no way to input what t-shirt you want...you can pay, but that's it. In any case, I just bought an unspecified shirt...really want the XL orange...

Re: Triumph Online (Store) Soon

I doubt it's just me who found it difficult to find Triumph-branded goods. (Or maybe it is just me...*crickets*) Not just you...I was so surprised after I got my Bonneville to find that I couldn't just go online and easily get branded items. They're out there, but you have to do a lot of digging to...

Re: What bike do you want today?

I just want the bike I have--Triumph Bonneville--to have ABS. If I got that, it would be the perfect bike. I'd like to play with a SachMadass for an hour or so, and I'd really like to take a Can Am Spyder for an extended test ride, but I don't want to own either. Maybe the Spyder later, when 2 wheel...

Re: This Week - 2012 Suzuki SFV650 Gladius: Vote & Discuss

I had a 2009, and that bike was pure fun. It felt a lot lighter than 450 pounds, was easy to control and creepingly slow sleeps, accelerated to stupid fast quickly...it was just a ton of fun, and if my back wasn't total crap, I'd probably still have it. It's a shame it didn't do well in the US...poo...

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice

The second one is the one I have...I have the older Airglide 2 model, but it's the same jacket. And yep, it's pricey... I didn't pay quite that much, though, I got mine at a dealership near here. I think I paid around $220.

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice

I've gone through several mesh jackets looking for one that allows a lot of air flow. My favorite so far is the Olympia Airglide Mesh...lots of air flow through it, and it feels lighter and more comfortable than the First Gear, Icon, and ?? (blanking on the other one) jackets I've worn.

Re: So, I have to re-take my road test for a car and bike!

To be fair, that's not all states... in CA you can take the written test before the MSF course and ride on a learner's permit (for up to a year) if you want. Then you just take your MSF certificate to the DMV to get a new license. Make an appointment, and you'll be in and out pretty quick if you cho...

Re: The Ladies' Lounge - REALLY?

I've hung out on boards where the Ladies' Lounge is password protected and women only, and it works. Women tend to talk about things they just don't when men are peeking in and replying...it's rarely motorcycle talk and can get very personal. Some pretty hard core friendships are formed there. I've ...

Re: This Week - 2012 Honda Gold Wing GL1800: Vote and Discus

If I did a lot of touring, I would probably like this a lot more than I do. I think it's cool because of its potential...just impractical for day to day riding. Though, if I ever get to where I can't hold two wheels up, I'd love to trike a Gold Wing and make it a daily driver.

They filed a patent for the mechanism...whether it ever sees the light of day is the question. I hope it does, just for the fun factor.
