because clutch pulled in means theres no power going to the wheel. When you just use brakes you go the same speed but you are still sending power from the bike to the ground. Rotational forces in the engine helping to moderate the bikes movements? That's the only explanation I could think of, but I haven't tried doing this yet so I'm not sure it will even work for me.

Sorry you feel that way, but motorcycling is as dangerous activity. Not everyone was made to ride a motorcycle and if the risk seems like too much to you then, by all means, don't ride.
