Yep, it's definitely being sold. Having second thoughts now that I can ride it! But alas I'm trading it in for a stroller.

Just thought I'd post an update. I ended up purchasing a new carb, and now it's running fine.

I've given up on my carb and I'm going to just buy a new one. The dealer wants $400. I can't seem to find any source of aftermarket carbs online. Is this a dealer only thing? Could use some tips. Thanks!

More drama. I replaced the manifold/carb coupler, no difference. I cleaned the carb AGAIN, still nothing. So I sprayed carb cleaner directly into the intake, and it fired right up. Yes, I cleaned out the petcock and filter and checked everything for good flow. Seems that everything is good up until the carb.

I plan on pulling apart the carb, soaking it, and now (from these suggestions) running some thin wire through the jets. I've got my fingers crossed!

Yep, tried it with the tank open. Checked the hoses and filters, it all runs clean. I've cleaned out the carb twice. The boot still needs replacing though, as its chopped up inside. I don't know how much a new carb will cost me (need to call HD).

Haven't had much time to work on this thing. I might just buy a new carb and boot and, if that doesn't work, stick a sign on it that says FREE BIKE and roll it into the street.

Oh, and I also took it apart last night and inspected the rubber boot from the carb to the intake, and it's pretty worn out and chopped up inside. Guess I'll have to get a new one of those as well. :cry: I've been doing more research and supposedly a bad boot can ...

Yes, I completely drained the tank and put fresh gas in it.

I have the FSM and it doesn't really suggest anything in the troubleshooting portion.

Not sure what the floats are set to. As I said, I probably do not have the skill to correctly diagnose a carb problem. Taking it apart, spraying it out, and putting it back together is about as far as I can get ...
