Sounds like the onset of a medical condition, perhaps vertigo, or low blood pressure, or maybe you need glasses or a new prescription.

Gonna need a working knowledge of motorcycle carbs and the competency to remove, clean, and rebuild them.

Those two bikes couldn't be more different. The Shadow is far more bike for the money, but what is your aptitude? An 1100 will get you in a lot of trouble if you're not ready. But, take your time and fear/respect it and it can be done.

There is nothing "comfortable" about encasing your head in plastic and padding, especially in California heat. Go to a motorcycle gear superstore and wear your top 3 contenders around the store for 10min each and buy the least uncomfortable.

It's on the menu here in Ohio.hyzhenry wrote: ↑Tue Nov 03, 2020 11:24 amOne thing I miss from the mcdonalds we have here was the double quarter pounder burger. It was a hugely popular burger we had here but sadly they discontinued it 3 years ago. Probably because it didn't make them a lot of money for the price they were selling it for.

Re: New to this forum: 1996 VS800
A lot has changed since 1996. With the addition of ethanol to the fuel, the specified jets are too small. Whenever bringing a bike like yours back from the dead, I always replace the pilots with at least one size larger, then maybe shim the needle with one additional washer. The carbs on the VS700/7...

It's VERY difficult to get pods sorted properly on CV carbs. You'd be better off with restricted (filtered) velocity stacks...tbh, you'd be better with the stock airbox...

Re: Front Cylinder misfiring, throwing flames from cobra pipe
It's afterfiring on only one cylinder, and pulling the plug on the front makes no difference, so your problem is isolated to the front cylinder. You can eliminate some things both cylinders have in common, such as the fuel (if it's bad, it's bad for both). You could have a clogged jet, a stuck float...

Re: How fast did you break in a motorcycle?
After 20 plus years as a factory Honda motor cycle tech , at pre delivery inspection and road test , trust me , most new bikes have already seen the upper rev range before the customer gets it . Not to mention a lot of manufacturers, such as Kawasaki, dyno their bikes right off the assembly line an...

716lbs. That's what the 1987 Yamaha Venture I flipped weighed. It had a center stand. Grab the left hand grip with your left hand, the left rear grab handle with your right, and proceed to stand all your weight on the stand while rolling the bike backward with your arms.

Harleys vibrate (more) at idle than at cruise. Perhaps it's the shaking and not the heat.
