I see by your name you still ride....how long before you got another bike?
It was over a year until I could put together cash for the next bike...a '76 KH400 triple 2-stroke beast that had been a race bike. It was like riding a rabid chain-saw on steroids. I wish I still had that one.

Re: What was your first bike and how did you come to own it?

In 1980 I was thinking of buying a motorcycle. I was 20 years old but still living at home while in college and my parents made it clear that I would not have a motorcycle if I was living at home. My girlfriend also made it clear that I was not to buy a motorcycle. So when my parents went to Hawaii ...

Re: Hello from Lancaster County, PA

Thanks! I hoped I'd like the beaded seat cover as the stock seat is a little uncomfortable after 50-100 miles. It turned out to be an amazing difference. The day after I put it on I did a 560 mile ride down to Shenandoah National Park and back with no problem at all. As a bonus it gives great air ci...

Hello from Lancaster County, PA

I'm living in beautiful Lancaster Count Pennsylvania. I started riding in 1980 on a Kawasaki KZ400 for about three months when I discovered the excitement of the "Left Hand Turn" maneuver by a Pontiac station wagon. The poor totalled KZ400 was soon replaced with a Kawasaki KH400 2-stroke t...
