Re: what is the best thing to remove rust off of chrome
Another method is to wash the part and then rub it with a piece of aluminum foil that's been dipped in salt water. Periodically wipe off the residue and dry the part when done. Other solutions can be found on WikiHow.

Tire maintainance
I check my tire pressure at least 1x a week to insure proper inflation but am wondering about filling them with nitrogen which is more stable and less sensitive to temperature changes than plain air. Does anyone use nitrogen and why or why not?

Re: Changing out a headlight
LED headlights are brighter than sealed beams and H4 bulbs and draw less power. This means more illumination with much less heat; the 75W rating means that it is equivalent in illumination to what a traditional 75W light would produce. They are designed as a "plug and play" unit, so you should have...

Sounds like a bad turn signal relay switch to me.

Thanks for the tip on the Clymer manual. I have a Haynes that I think is difficult to follow and have lousy pictures.

That's kind of what I thought. Once the metal is blue, it stays blue. Thanks.

Exhaust pipe discoloration
Hi all,
Due to a carburetor problem with my 2009 V Star 1100 (which I've had fixed), one of my exhaust pipes has become slightly blued. Is there a way to restore it short of replacing the pipe?
Thanks.

Re: Register Your Rides Here - Tell us about your ride!
Hey Ya'll,
My name is Bill and I live near Asheville, NC. After a 45 year hiatus, I came back to riding last fall, taking and passing the MSF BasicRider course. I now ride a candy apple red 2009 Yamaha VStar 1100 Classic and am loving it.

Re: Parking question
An inexpensive half-cover would do the trick. Also, Lockitt sells something called a "cycle shade" which is a suspended awning that covers the rear 2/3 of your bike. I personally would be leery of parking next to a tall vehicle that blocks the view of someone who may think the parking space is empty...

Re: New Rider Questions
I'm no veteran rider but I can tell you this isn't the last time you'll experience something like this. You will have people tailgating you, pulling right up on your tail at a stop, cutting you off when they pass you (remember, keep the left lane position when another vehicle is on your left), lots ...
