Re: What's the coldest you willingly ride in?
Last night I rode in 48 degrees temp... and all was good except the bridge of my noise. Very cold for me. I use layered clothing and I stay warm but don't get into really cold temps. Living in Louisiana, US I rarely see any extreme weather. Had gloves, jacket, and flannel line pants, with long johns...

Re: added rider's safety
I admit it looks tremendously dorky, but I'm still a great believer in reflective tape and HiViz. Thumper... lots of night time visibility ...good..... I think your Rockster has a kit available to make the turn signals into running lights. Does yours have this feature? There are add on lights I can...

added rider's safety
I added a reflective cloth strip to my back pack and jacket. The idea is a driver coming up from behind will see the strips waving like a flag or a banner. A moving strip of light...light snake. What ya think???? Robert http://i984.photobucket.com/albums/ae327/redwing1200/SAM_00382.jpg http://i984.p...

Re: Looking for another bike. BMW?
Ah, a man with superior taste R1200R my man. I'm just plain thick... so how do you like your R1200R. It is my first bike and I can not compare it to another bike. But I really like the handling and power. The R has weight ratio to torque and horsepower that you find with corvettes and the like. Als...

Re: Wind Noise = deal breaker
A good helmet is important but cost is always a factor. I have a Quest from Shoie (full face) and the helmet's best quality is stability at 80 or 90 mph or less. The previous helmet I owned wanted to lift up at freeway speeds ... bad aerodynamics. The greatest change in noise came when I started put...

Re: Looking for another bike. BMW?
dablade... I gots a BMW ... an R1200R 2008and it's naked. I got my bike at 57, three years ago and it is very sweet. A R1200RT weighs about 560 wet...which is a faried bike. The R bikes have the traditional BMW motor. The K bikes have a inline 4 and have been called top heavy ...but several models f...

Re: Automatic motorcycles, yay or nay?
My bike has a Pingel Electric Shift and while I do use the clutch the Pingel can be set up where the clutch is not used...except for starting and stopping. Just push a button on the handle bar and up or down is the next gear. One positive point about the Pingel is a fast shift... the bike's coil is ...
